I had my gallbladder removed on Friday. It was like a breakup - where you hadn’t realized the subtle shift in the person you were with until they were gone and then it was like, “good riddance.” I went home from the hospital early Friday morning and was sleepy for the remainder of the day. On Saturday, I left the house with Andrea and felt so great that I decided I didn’t need any Tylenol or Advil for my pain later that evening. This was a miscalculation on my part which left me groaning with each movement. No need for the hard stuff that was prescribed but I clearly need to keep up the OTC regimen.
When they do this surgery, they put air in your stomach and which makes your stomach feel bloated and hard. The air is coming out - it’s likely the only time Andrea will cheer when I pass gas so I am reveling in that. I anticipate returning to work sooner than I’d planned. If I worked in an office, I doubt I’d be back so soon. I mean - I’m constipated and no one cheers when you fart at work. Plus, you can take a meeting off camera, which is great because my pajamas are getting a lot of action.
Thankfully, my office is closed tomorrow in observance of Juneteenth. I anticipate a day of chugging Miralax.
